Somehow checking the garden turned into a photo shoot this afternoon. I should have been tending to the vegetables I gathered but, instead, I found myself trying to get a perfect picture of the produce. I’m still trying to figure out what my camera can and cannot do. At this point I’m convinced my camera can do anything except macro shots (I’d need a new lens) and that I can do very little.
My sister sent me links on taking great pictures of food and I read each one very carefully. I think my food pictures will improve but I still need to learn a lot about the camera. Photoshop helps but, let’s face it, an ugly woman with makeup is still an ugly woman. My pictures need more than foundation and blush.
This one is clearly washed out. I believe I tried to set the shutter and aperture manually. That may be a good idea except I still am not sure I know what I’m doing.
This is from the opposite angle – changing, I thought, the way the sun hit the objects. It’s still washed out looking and that’s even after playing with it in Photoshop.
I darkened this one a bit in Photoshop. But it came out too dark.
This is probably the best of them and I took a LOT of photographs.
Clearly I need a lot of work on my photography skills. I’m watching videos and reading websites that purport to teach people how to use their cameras. I’m determined to take really good pictures. And I’m grateful my sister loves me enough to have pointed out that my earlier photos really needed work.
